Part of Lula Lounge’s Global Late Night series, BRASA brings us a night of Brazilian funk and soul, Amazonian cumbia, chicha, tropicalia, and carimbó.

The word brasa means ember—that glowing, red-hot coal—and it’s the perfect metaphor for the sound: warm, rhythmic, and impossible to ignore. Drawing from the rich traditions of Brazilian soul, samba-rock, and Tropicália, BRASA, led by keyboardist João Leão and joined by Mathias Recharte, Jonathan Amador, Phil Miles, and Baiano, delivers a vibrant set of groove-driven classics and contemporary gems inspired by icons like Jorge Ben, João Donato, Marcos Valle, and Tim Maia, alongside newer Brazilian sounds.

Expect deep rhythms, infectious melodies, and dance floor hits.
